Japan Fulbright Memorial Teacher Program 2005

From October 9-October 28, 2005 I will be traveling in Japan as an honored guest of the Japanese Government. Since 1997 teachers have participated in the Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program which encourages teachers to promote greater intellectual understanding between the two nations. I hope that you will enjoy sharing my adventures through my journal. I am very thankful to be going on this journey and I especially appreciate all you prayers and encouragement. Luv U BAD

Does anyone really know what time it is?

Good morning USA,
BAD traveler here reporting from the beautiful city of San Francisco. We arrived yesterday (Sunday). It's been so much fun meeting teachers from all over the country. We had our first orientation and there is so much enery and excitement in the air. There are 2oo teachers and administrators in our group. After listening to our speakers talk tabout our trip we were treated to a very nice dinner where we got to know our smaller groups. Each group of 20 will later be traveling together to a host city. Our group seems to be a lot of fun and we already had some good laughs. I'm trying really hard not to get us in trouble already.
So it's 8:30 am on my watch (EST), 5:30 am in San Fransisco, and 9:30 pm in Japan. I am up even though its dark out. I am going to attempt to download my first picture all by myself. You'll know I was successful if you see a picture.
Once I'm done here it's off to run along the beautiful San Fransisco bay before breakfast. Then we are off to the airport for ...Japan!!! I'm SO exicted.
Lots of love to you all,
Barbara
